MISSION TRIPS

High School Youth Mission Trips give our teens a special opportunity to grow in faith and to live out the social teachings of the church. To "go in peace to live and serve the Lord." Our trips are very successful, as can be evidenced by the tremendous growth and interest over the years.

Making these trips a reality has almost become a year-round effort. In addition to giving up a week of their summer to participate in the trip itself, the students also donate their time and talent to help with the planning process, volunteer at various Parish functions as a way to say “Thank You” to the Parish for their support, and to participate in fundraising efforts to help defray the costs related to the trips.

Mission trips provide a fun and tremendously rewarding experience for our high school youth and represent an important step in their individual faith journeys. They come to see the face of Christ in each other and those they serve.  It is exciting and reassuring to have so many young people willing to give witness to their faith and to share their time and talents.

Our 2025 Mission Trip to Leslie County, Kentucky was a sweaty success!
RECAP OF MISSION TRIP 2025

Our 2026 Mission Trip will be to Duluth, Minnesota, from Saturday, June 13th through Friday, June 19th. Duluth is a vibrant port city on Lake Superior in Minnesota’s Arrowhead Region, known for its natural beauty, historic landmarks, and welcoming community.

Highlights of the region include:

  • Park Point Beach, home to the world’s longest freshwater sandbar and the Minnesota Point Lighthouse.
  • Access to the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore, featuring sea caves, old-growth forests, and historic lighthouses.
  • Opportunities for outdoor adventure, such as the Red Cliff Sea Caves Kayak Tour, where participants can explore caves, a shipwreck, and a natural sea arch.

We will be close to St. Francis Catholic Church, keeping our faith at the center of this experience. We will partner with local organizations that are impacting their community with assistance in children’s programming, local youth centers, caring for the elderly, outdoor yard projects and sorting donations at food pantries.

We are proud of the leadership and input of our youth in making this decision, and we look forward to an impactful week of service, faith, and community in Duluth!
