Mike and Lynne Sliwa were born and raised in Milwaukee, where they attended highschool and college. They met at CYO at Our Lady Of Lourdes parish in Milwaukee and were married there in 1966. They lived in Burlington in the 1980s, where their two children, Michael and Jennifer attended St. Charles grade school and Burlington High School. Michael and his wife Karen live in Cliff, New Mexico and Jennifer and her husband Brian live in Burlington.

Mike worked for J I Case and Oshkosh Corp as a plant manager before moving to Phoenix for 26 years, where he retired as a sales manager. Lynne worked for the recreation departments in Milwaukee and Burlington, where she taught pre-school and was an assistant coach at Burlington High School in several sports. Four years ago they returned to Wisconsin to Waterford to be closer to family.

Mike and Lynne like to run, walk, play pickle ball, play an occasional round of golf, and enjoy game night with family. They also like to travel and took a road trip to Alaska with their teardrop camper a few years back. At St. Thomas, Lynne is a Eucharistic Minister and Mike is a Lector. You can also find them volunteering at Fish Frys and the Country Fair.

St. Thomas is the most welcoming parish they have ever been members of. They told us that they felt welcome from the very first day they set foot in STA four years ago. They are honored to have been considered for this recognition. Please congratulate Mike and Lynne for their selection and their continued contributions to STA and the community.
